About me!
Hi, I’m Karen, I love dogs! (who doesn’t!!) and I want to make dogs lives better (and your life too!). For the longest time I’ve wanted to work with dogs, at one point I considered Australian Border Force Customs training on the East Coast but there are limited opportunities to work in that area in WA.
After working as a consultant in oil & gas and mining for 24 years, I made a career pivot, I took the plunge and re-trained gaining my Cert IV in Dog Behaviour and Training along with my IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) accreditation (positive, force free dog training) and have completed numerous other courses.
I am continuing my studies, attending dog training conferences building industry networks and keep updated with the latest dog training information and methods. I am currently completing further study with Susan Garrett in Canada and further qualifications from Absolute Dogs in the UK, both of which focuses heavily on concept training - a personal passion area of mine! Concept training is used in conjunction with behaviour training (click here for information about concept training).
