About me!

Hi, I’m Karen, I love dogs! (who doesn’t!!) For the longest time I’ve wanted to work with dogs, at one point I looked into completing Australian Border Force Customs training on the East Coast so I could work with a Detector Dog at the airport but there are limited opportunities to work in that area in WA.

After working as a consultant in oil & gas and mining for the last 24 years, I am now mentally ready for a career pivot, I took the plunge and began re-training in 2024 and in 2025 gained my Cert IV in Dog Behaviour and Training along with my IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) accreditation (positive, force free dog training) and have completed a number of other courses.

I am continuing my studies, attending dog training conferences building industry networks and remaining updated with the latest dog training information and methods. I am about to embark on obtaining my Pro Dog Training qualifications from Absolute Dogs in the UK, which focuses heavily on concept training - a personal passion area of mine! Concept training is used in conjunction with behaviour training, more information about this can be found on the separate tab.
