You’re not failing — you just need the right support. I provide professional, force-free dog training that helps you understand your dog, stop unwanted behaviours and build skills that your dog can use in everyday situations. I help you understand what is happening and help you to speak dog!
We start with a personalised assessment, then use positive reinforcement, clear structure, and practical training strategies to create calm, confident and optimistic dogs — without punishment, fear, or judgment.

✔ Real-world solutions for real homes (at your home)
✔ Clear guidance for both you and your dog
What do you get as part of a one-on-one training session? How does it work?
If you are a new client, we have an initial phone discussion where I find out a detailed history about your dog and gain an understanding of any concerns you have. I develop a detailed behaviour and concept based training plan from that information which may change a little once I meet the dog. We step-by-step go through the training plan with demonstrations and hands on training and discuss why we are doing that particular training and how it meets your needs. We also discuss the life skills you are going to capture from your dog during every day activities, all of which come together to start addressing your concerns. My first visits are usually around an hour and a half.
I check in with you weekly via email after my visit to see how you are going where I will answer any questions, help you over any hurdles and tweak the training plan if needed. All of the above is basically what is included in your first session fee.
In my experience, there are usually a few issues an owner wants to address and these can often be quite complex. Learning needs to be executed in stages. To manage your expectations, we can’t jump from A to Z in one visit and that counter surfing issue is done and dusted for example. I don’t want to overwhelm you! So we make a start by teaching your dog some foundations that will start to help with the issues you are having, getting them pointed in the right direction and setting you on track to start strengthening your dogs emotional stability and behavioural abilities.
By the end of that first visit, you might be well on your way with all the knowledge you need and the understanding I can give you of why your dog is doing something. However, another visit or two is usually beneficial. Once your dog is starting to get the hang of the initial training and when you are ready, I can come back for another visit (new payment) where I develop a new training plan that builds on the initial training plan that was developed for your dog, further strengthening your dogs skills and understanding and continue their learning.
I ‘Coach Humans and Train Dogs’. The key to successful training is connection with your dog, we want to grow that connection in a positive and force free way, we want your dog to see you as fun, to want to hang out with you and to find joy in doing whatever you have asked it to do. This takes time to grow, I can direct you, support you and get you on the right path towards that, but this does take time and to be honest, you need to be willing and able to put some work in from your end as well.

They then apply these skills in different and unfamiliar situations, making better choices by themselves. I am a force free, positive reinforcement trainer. Training is never ‘cookie cutter’, IMDT accredited trainers always assess and train the dog in front of them. What might work for you, may not work for a friend that is experiencing a similar problem, there are so many factors to consider including breed, history and environment.

Once your puppy arrives, it can be a whirlwind! You might be wondering if you are doing the right thing, you might be having some initial struggles, you might be unsure about socialisation and what that actually is (it is not socialising with other dogs!). I provide you information, solutions, games to play and basic training (behaviour and concept training) to help you start building your relationship and bond with your newest family member
Walk and Train
$130 - 45 minutes , package rates available
Due to increasing requests, I am now offering Walk and Trains. Life gets busy, everybody has something they need to do or somewhere to be, work, kids, elderly parents, you might currently have an injury or have other personal circumstances or commitments. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. I can either come when you are not there if I am able to get access to your yard, or come when you are there and will spend 45 minutes with your dog.
Taking into consideration any behaviour struggles your dog may be experiencing, access and weather, I may do half of that session as training in the back yard without distractions and half of it walking and training. The focus will be on general manners, loose leash walking, recall (training on long lead) and making walks fun and engaging. If the opportunity presents itself we can work on dog/dog or dog/person reactivity, building on their confidence, optimism and disengagement skills. If the preference is just for a 45 minute sniff/enrichment/exercise walk with no specific training requirements to break up your dogs day, we can do that as well. You tell me what you need.
We will walk around your suburb so your dog becomes familiar with distractions, local challenges and other dogs they may meet on walks with you and if we can find a park, we’ll do some training there as well. No written training plan is provided for this service, but tell me what needs work and I’ll focus on that. I will keep you updated with your dogs progress and hand over the skills you need to carry on the training when you head out on a walk with your furry family member. We can do this by me walking with you once your dogs skills have been built or demonstrating the training at your home.
All walks will be one-on-one so your dog has my full attention and all walks will be on lead, no off lead adventures.
